The legal situation in Taiwan

Taiwan requires VASPs to register for AML purposes under rules tightened from January 2025. The Virtual Asset Service Act, drafted in March 2025, passed the legislature on 30 June 2026 and will require FSC licensing once the cabinet sets its effective date. We found no privacy-coin-specific rule, and owning XMR is legal.
