What is the most important item?
Your seed phrase. Anyone who has it can take your funds, and if you lose it nobody can restore them.
Do I need my own node?
No, but a remote node learns your IP address and when your wallet is active. Your own node, or a trusted one over Tor, gives the most privacy.
