Best Monero wallet for iPhone and iPad
Cake Wallet is the best Monero wallet for iPhone in October 2026, with Monero.com by Cake as a simpler XMR-only option from the same team. Stack Wallet is a good open-source multi-coin alternative. All three scan on your device, so your view key stays on your phone.
The short answer
iOS has fewer Monero wallets than Android. Monerujo, ANONERO and Skylight are Android only. On iPhone and iPad, these are the realistic choices:
- Cake Wallet: the most complete Monero app on iOS.
- Monero.com by Cake: a separate App Store app from the Cake team focused on Monero.
- Stack Wallet: open-source multi-coin wallet with XMR.

Why Cake Wallet is the default pick
Cake Wallet has been building Monero apps for iOS since its early days and released v6.5.0 in October 2026. It scans on your phone, so no server sees your view key. It supports Polyseed (16 words), legacy 25-word and BIP39 Monero seeds, and lets you set a restore date to speed up recovery. Built-in Tor hides your IP from nodes, at the cost of slower sync. Since v6.2 (5 June 2026) it can sign Monero transactions with a Trezor (on iPhone only the Bluetooth Safe 7, per trezor.io), and it also supports Ledger. Cake was named as the successor wallet when MyMonero closed. Full details in the Cake Wallet review.
The trade-off on iOS: Apple limits background activity, so Cake's scheduled background sync is an Android feature. Open the app and let it sync before you need to spend.
Monero.com by Cake
Monero.com is listed alongside Cake Wallet on getmonero.org. It suits people who want only XMR with fewer screens. Because it comes from the same team, the safety model is similar: local scanning, your own seed, optional custom node.
Stack Wallet
Stack Wallet runs on iPhone, iPad, Android and desktop. It is open source under GPL-3.0 and scans XMR locally. Tor routing is optional and off by default, and there is no hardware-wallet pairing. See the Stack Wallet review.
Other iOS apps with XMR
Edge is listed by getmonero.org as the one wallet that uses remote synchronisation, which means it shares your private view key with a server. Edge historically used MyMonero's backend; which server it uses after MyMonero's January 2026 shutdown is not publicly documented. Guarda offers XMR but does not document how it scans. THORWallet announced native XMR on 5 October 2026 in a sponsored press release; it is too new for us to recommend. More in multi-coin wallets.
What to avoid
- Exodus removed XMR on 18 August 2025.
- Trust Wallet has no native Monero.
- Copycat apps with "Monero" or "MyMonero" in the name from unknown publishers. MyMonero itself closed on 6 January 2026, so any "MyMonero" app or site you find now is not the original service. See MyMonero closure.
Switching from Exodus or MyMonero on iPhone
Two popular routes into Monero on iPhone have closed. Exodus ended XMR support on 18 August 2025, and MyMonero shut down on 6 January 2026. In both cases your coins are still on the blockchain:
- From Exodus: export the 25-word Monero mnemonic from Exodus Desktop (mobile users sync to Desktop first), then restore it in Cake Wallet. Exodus itself pointed users to Cake.
- From MyMonero: restore your 25-word seed in Cake as a Legacy (25 words) seed and set a restore date near your first use. Details in MyMonero recovery.
Whatever you migrate from, do it inside the app. Never paste a seed into a website that promises to "migrate" your wallet; that is a common scam.
Your first days with an iPhone Monero wallet
Create the wallet, write the seed on paper, and receive a small amount first. Incoming XMR shows quickly but can only be spent after 10 confirmations, about 20 minutes. If you plan to receive larger sums, wait longer: after an 18-block chain reorganisation on 14 September 2025, Monero researchers advised waiting beyond 10 confirmations. Safety on iPhone
- Open the App Store listing from the official website (cakewallet.com or stackwallet.com), typed by hand, and check the developer name.
- Write the seed on paper; do not store it in Notes, iCloud or photos.
- Turn on the app's PIN or Face ID lock.
- For larger amounts, use a hardware wallet. See Monero hardware wallets.
Frequently asked questions
Is there a Monerujo for iPhone?
No. Monerujo is Android only. On iPhone, use Cake Wallet, Monero.com by Cake or Stack Wallet.
Is Cake Wallet free on iOS?
Yes. The wallet is free and open source. Swaps and purchases inside the app go through third-party providers that charge their own fees.
Does any iPhone Monero wallet support Trezor?
Cake Wallet added Trezor support for Monero in version 6.2 on 5 June 2026. On iOS, Trezor lists only the Safe 7, which connects over Bluetooth; the Safe 5, Safe 3 and Model T work with Cake on Android.
Why does my iPhone wallet take long to sync?
Monero wallets that scan locally must check every new block. iOS limits background work, so the app catches up when you open it. Setting an accurate restore date when restoring a wallet saves a lot of time.
